I, Awareness: A New Understanding

What Awareness is, and what I am, are one and the same. We have 3 shared qualities of Being. 1. We never change; 2. We never disappear; and 3. We are never known by something other than Our Shared Being.

I am present, and never not aware of  being present. I am here and never not aware of being here. I am aware and never not aware of being aware. I am conscious and never not aware of being conscious.

Awareness is the knowing of all known experience; and all experience is known by Awareness & in Awareness. I am, then, that very present knowingness that knows ItSelf.  There is only One Awareness aware. I and Infinite Awareness is one.

Awareness created ‘me’ aware. In this way, I am just like Awareness. I am Awareness. My Pure Awareness and I are one. I am not an object, although, as a thought of Awareness (mind), I came to believe I was an object. I am not the mind, nor do I perceive a world with separate objects made of matter. I am Awareness, and I know MySelf alone. The mind is simply a ‘thought of Awareness’. The thinking of thoughts are known by Awareness, not their content.  The perceiving of perceptions are known by Awareness, not their objects to which they refer. Only mind can think and perceive objects, it being an object.  But, objects are an illusion. Their reality is Awareness. The test of reality is that all that is known cannot be known by something other than ItSelf. So, if I am a mind, I cannot know Awareness. I can only seem to move and interact as an object with other objects. But I, Awareness, can know experience as the very awareness that I am. There is only Awareness being aware.

With a new understanding of what I am,  a thought cannot tell Me what an object is. Awareness only knows the direct and intimate experience of knowing ItSelf, not the objective experience. This is what I am; The Knowing. Pure Awareness. Pure Knowing.

Pure Awareness is object-less without limits. It is the knowing element that is the ever-present presence that knows that light of knowing, not ‘the object’ known. Its own ‘knowingness’ knows the known as its own knowing Self, (if you can call it a Self), and is aware of being aware. Period.

Everything Awareness is aware “of”, is made of Knowingness; otherwise ‘nothing’ could be known at all. There is no knowing of ‘anything’ without awareness, present and aware. True understanding is to rest in the mind’s essential nature of Knowing, and not in what the mind ‘thinks’ it knows about.  The mind cannot know those ‘its & things’ because all those ‘its & things’ are appearing to be separate from itself as an object, and nothing in existence is separate from the knowing of it. Pure Awareness knows not anything other than ItSelf.

Awareness cannot know an object. That is impossible.  It can only be ItSelf; knowing that it knows. Nothing that comes into awareness cannot, at the same time, be something other than Awareness, separate from awareness.  It’s like thinking of a tree, without thinking of it; or perceiving the sky without seeing it. No. Awareness can only know thinking and perceiving as the very experience of ItSelf, knowing that it knows. It only knows that it knows, and all knowing is known by Pure Infinite Awareness.

Awareness knows the ‘it’ as ItSelf, because that ‘it’ is known, and all things known are made of knowing, (not something else). No appearance shows up unless awareness is there first. And that is not even true, because that ‘thing’ and awareness are co-created equally. When an experience shows up, there is only Awareness, present & aware. And when that experience disappears, Awareness remains present and aware. All ‘things’  shine with awareness, not because ‘they’ have ‘their’ own inner separate shining awareness, but because the substance Itself is in Awareness, is known by Awareness, and is made of Awareness. Only Awareness is the source of shining, and is aware of that shining.

The mind is a “thought” of Pure Infinite Awareness. Its an activity in Awareness that emulates Awareness, but is not, by itself, aware of itself. Mind cannot be known without Awareness present.

Imagine a painter and his self-portrait. A self-portrait is created as an activity by a painter and that portrait emulates the painter; but the portrait is not, by itself, its own creator. It did not paint itself. The portrait cannot know itself as a portrait, because it is the painter that created the portrait, and it is only the painter that can know the portrait. The self-portrait of the painter is not itself, the painter, but neither does the self-portrait come into being without the presence of the painter.

Mind is made of Awareness, thus has the power to reflect this ‘knowingness’ of ItSelf, through its objective creations. With this one activity, Awareness as mind, can create a multiplicity and diversity of limited and temporary minds, having their own forms with names, shapes & colours.

A “thought” of Awareness is mind, and mind calls Itself “I” as perceived from the point of view of that mind. Awareness has willingly and seemingly separated ItSelf apart from Its Pure Infinite Being with a thought, and now, through the mind, believes ItSelf to be limited in a temporary self of ItSelf, and experiences reality objectively, thinking and feeling ITSelf as a separate subject in a perceptual world among other separate objects.

When the mind is reminded of its pre-conditioned nature, it traces its way back to its own Pure Knowingness, and remembers ItSelf to be Pure Knowingness. It then settles ItSelf in Awareness, and as Awareness. It’s at home in itself. The mind inherently knows the truth of its own Being, but, because of its objective-like nature experiencing reality through objective lens, it forgot that Awareness is Its Essential Substance, (Its Only Substance) from which all experience is known.  It became fixated on what it believed to be ‘objects made of matter’, itself being an object with form. Objects seemed to take on a life of their own, set apart from the mind; a mind by which it came to know itself as a separate subject.

With the knowledge of its own Aware nature, and abiding as pure object-less awareness, mind (and its body form) now understands that all objects, itself included, are not really objects, but appearances known in Awareness. They are not even real appearances, because they are known by Awareness, made of Awareness, and lit up by Awareness. They are Awareness.  In this new understanding, the mind stops its search trying to know what objects are, when they came to be, why they exist, where they came from and how to acquire them.  In truth, objects, as separate entities, never existed. Mind no longer cares about ‘objects’ as ‘objects’, because there ARE no objects.  Mind turns in, and intimately cares about ItSelf, being aware of Itself as Awareness ItSelf. It restfully and effortlessly relaxes into ItSelf, simply happy & peaceful in the fact that knowing the ‘what, when, why, where and how’ is irrelevant. Its only purpose is to knowingly know ItSelf as Pure Infinite Awareness, and this is all It needs to know.
