What Are Things?

An object, body, or world is not really an objective thing like a fish in the ocean that can be “plucked out” and separated from the Ocean. A “thing” is not really an objective thing; like a fish in the ocean. A “thing” is simply a thing perceived. Perception is simply the “evidence of” or “pointing to” the direct experience of “knowing no-thing”. So, the experiencing of perceiving can be likened to a “current” in the ocean; simply a movement or vibration within the ocean; or in this case, “knowing ocean”. The appearance of a “current” or the appearance of “perceiving” is not made of any different material than the container in which it appears.

So, a thing, or the experiencing of perceiving is like the ocean current: an ocean current is never made of anything different than the Ocean’s Own Essence, so any appearance can only ever “be” what it “is” already.
