“If we taste of the cup of love, we shall cast away the world…” Baha’u’llah
If we know the knower of known reality as the knowing itself, (and not a body/mind), the distance between the apparent knower & the known shall close; shall be as naught. This means that believing in one’s self as an entity (which re-enforces the belief in a world of separate entities) shall be cast away. The feeler & the felt shall be cast away, the senser & the sensed will be cast away. All ‘things shall be cast away; the seer & the seen, the hearer & the heard, the toucher & the touched, the taster and the tasted, the smeller & the smelled. What is left is the one knowing of experience, and that knowing is known as Love.
If we taste of this Cup; this Unified Reality; we shall cast away suffering, and know Love. The belief in a world of ‘things’ (a mind having its own distinct reality apart from objects made of matter) shall dissolve.
All that shall remain is one reality as Its always been; the formless & ever-present knowing itself. The knowing itself is all there is. (not experiences divided, not thoughts divided, not feelings divided, not sensations divided, not sights-sounds-tastes-textures-smells divided). There is only the one knowing experience of knowing, known through the agency of thinking-feeling-sensing-perceiving, and this known agency is made of knowing.
This dissolving of the distance between the subject and object of experience is to experience the Cup of Love; the Knowledge of Love. This is what is meant by casting away the world. It is the dissolving of objective reality; the dissolving of the apparent two. There is only one experience in Reality, and it is The Knowing itself. This is understood as Wisdom, felt as Love and perceived as Beauty.
