In My Own Hula Hoop

What does it mean to stay in my own hula hoop?

A hula hoop is a symbol of one’s own state of mind. It is one’s own perspective coming from one’s own thoughts, and interpreting and giving meaning to those thoughts from one’s own perspective.

When I  stay in my own hula hoop, I become aware that all my feelings, thoughts, and beliefs are coming from my own mind. Based on my own beliefs, I am the one who sees how I see, and feels how I feel.  I am the one who releases the thoughts I think when they no longer serve me.

In my own hula hoop, it is I who chooses whether or not to feel my feelings when they arise. It is I who decides to look at my thoughts and choose whether or not to continue to believe in them.  To ‘stay in my own hula hoop’, means I no longer look “outside” to blame, judge, interpret, correct, attack, defend, fix, rescue, or complain.  I allow all of my own feelings and thoughts to run their course inside my own hula hoop, like allowing a wind-up toy to fully unwind naturally. As I continue in this undoing process, all meaning to all my feelings, thoughts and beliefs will settle down and eventually my hula hoop will become completely quiet, calm and still.  It is only Now, the lines of the hula hoop disappear and I am truly free.
